The reese's Transport 3000

“The Reese’s Central Intelligent Support Vehicle”

One of the many design challenges in creating Reese’s Cupfusion was the need to re-use reimagine the ride system of the existing Reese’s Xtreme  Cup Challenge attraction. The ride vehicles required a head-to-toe makeover and revamp, including an entirely new guest game controller, delivered within a tight production timeline.

Reese’s Cupfusion is Hersheypark’s first truly story-driven dark ride, and the Reese’s Transport ride vehicle plays a critical role in the narrative. That all meant the “reskinning” of the ride vehicle needed to feel much more than skin-deep. The redesign drilled down into how to take an existing object and visually reimagine it so it is fully a part of a new story universe.

Signage in the Reese's Cupfusion queue provides a technical overview of the Reese's Transport.

From the Writer

"In its story and visual design, the Reese's Transport extends the lighthearted sci-fi aesthetic of the Cupfusion universe. It winks at the futurism of Star Trek and Marvel technology. What I love about the design are the trompe l'oeil style touches that create the illusion of dimensionality on flat surfaces. Through various grills and vents, we get glimpses of the innerworkings of the Transport. The vehicle really tells a story visually."
