The Gumdrops

Rank: Junior Henchcandy

Job Description: agents of chaos

Approximate Number: too many to count

Favorite Activities: insubordination, roughhousing, light demolition

The Gumdrops are the primary adversaries guests encounter during their mission to protect the Reese’s Central factory the League of Misfit Candy in Reese’s Cupfusion. Countless in number and irrepressible in attitude, these pint-sized pests are Mint the Merciless‘ first line of offense in carrying out his plan for global domination. Unfortunately for Mint, the Gumdrops are more interested in having fun and running wild than they are in following orders.

From the Writer

"Apart from the Reese's Cuppie characters, the Gumdrops are the only candy type we encounter more than one of during the ride. 'More than one' is understatement. There is apparently no end to their number. For the practicality if gameplay, we needed to populate the factory environments with a whole mob of opponents that had fun, repeatable designs. There was a balance to be struck between having lots going on and not making it scary or overwhelming for younger guests. A swarm of any type of creature can off-putting. We worked hard to make the Gumdrops silly and endearing. They aren't bad or menacing. They are goofy troublemakers in need of a time out."
