After nearly a year of working from home, countless Zoom calls, virtual conferences, happy hours and game nights, it sure feels great to start safely reconnecting again. IAAPA recently announced that IAAPA Expo Asia, the largest trade show of its kind in Asia, will be taking place in Shanghai August 10 – 13 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Connecting more than 6,000 buyers from the attractions industry in the Asia-Pacific region, the Expo is a great place to meet and mingle with peers, colleagues, operators and key decision makers of amusement parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, museums, zoos, aquariums, and more.
As part of the Expo, we’ll be leading a discussion with a distinguished panel from the industry. Entitled “Co-creating the Future: The Guest as Collaborator”, we’ll explore how the relationship between destination and guest is evolving. As the boundaries between technologies, media, and cultures dissolve, the desire for more interactive, responsive, and emotionally relevant experiences is growing. The world’s most successful destinations understand that exceptional guest engagement is a two-way street–an ongoing act of co-creation with the guest. This panel discussion explores the actionable ways in which experiential destinations can empower their visitors as collaborators and jointly create mutual value. We will look at the importance of discovering ways to listen to and draw insights from guests to gain a deeper understanding of their needs, pain points, and aspirations and authentically expanding upon a band’s value promise. We’ll also investigate how to create experiences and environments that provide for more personalized and customizable interactions, affording guests more of a sense of agency to tell their own stories. This session will serve owners and industry specialists of every level seeking methods to strengthen the relationship with the guest and tell more meaningful, compelling, and emotionally resonant stories for audiences around the globe.
We hope to see you in Shanghai! Drop us a line if we can plan to meet up.
